Spaghetti Marinara

Spaghetti tossed in slow-simmered tomato sauce with basil and garlic-rubbed crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 2 cans whole peeled tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil
  • Pinch red pepper flakes
  • Salt
  • Parmigiano to serve

Method

  1. 1 Crush the tomatoes by hand and gently warm the olive oil with sliced garlic.
  2. 2 Add the tomatoes and red pepper flakes and simmer 20 minutes, seasoning with salt.
  3. 3 Cook the spaghetti to al dente in heavily salted water.
  4. 4 Toss the pasta in the sauce with torn basil and finish each plate with parmigiano.
