Smoked BBQ Ribs

Pork ribs rubbed with brown sugar and spices, smoked low for tender competition-style bark.

Ingredients

  • 2 racks pork ribs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • BBQ sauce

Method

  1. 1 Pull the membrane and coat both sides of the ribs in dry rub.
  2. 2 Smoke at 225F over hickory for 3 hours, spritzing with apple juice each hour.
  3. 3 Wrap in foil with a splash of juice and continue 90 minutes more.
  4. 4 Glaze with BBQ sauce and finish unwrapped 30 minutes for the bark.
