Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak, sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 5 scallions
  • 1/2 cup water

Method

  1. 1 Toss the steak in cornstarch and shallow-fry until crisp.
  2. 2 Combine soy, sugar, garlic, ginger, and water and reduce in the wok.
  3. 3 Return the beef to the sauce and toss until glossy.
  4. 4 Add scallions, give it one final toss, and serve over rice.
