Steel-Cut Oatmeal
Slow-simmered steel-cut oats with brown sugar, toasted pecans, and warm spiced apples.

Ingredients
- 1 cup steel-cut oats
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup whole milk
- Pinch of salt
- 2 apples, diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup toasted pecans
Method
- 1 Toast the oats in a dry pot for two minutes until they smell nutty.
- 2 Add water, milk, and salt and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 3 Saute apples in butter with brown sugar until caramelized.
- 4 Top each bowl of oats with the apples, pecans, and an extra drizzle of cream.
