Classic Chocolate Cake
Two tall layers of fudgy chocolate cake under glossy ganache frosting.

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup hot coffee
- Chocolate ganache
Method
- 1 Whisk the dry ingredients, then beat in eggs, buttermilk, and oil.
- 2 Stream in the hot coffee to make a thin glossy batter.
- 3 Bake in two pans at 350F for 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- 4 Cool, frost generously with ganache, and chill briefly before slicing.
